THE ARK on Foundry Road

Our first day nursery in Stamford, The Ark on Foundry Road next door to St Gilbert's School, is housed in a beautiful, purpose-built log cabin that was designed and built in Sweden. Parents and visitors always comment on the cosiness and warmth that the wooden walls and ceilings create.

The Nursery is divided into many exciting rooms.  A lot of thought went into the design of the nursery and attention to every detail is very important to us.  We believe children thrive best in a homely and stimulating environment and both the original Ark, and the new Ark on Kesteven Road, provide truly amazing spaces for all our children.

DESIGNED TO MAKE BABIES FEEL AT HOME.

We have designed our baby rooms to feel like home.  Our babies enjoy cosy times in the living room which can also be used as a sensory room.  They have their own bathroom and bedroom, and two large playrooms offering space for cruising, climbing and fun on the floor activities. These rooms have direct access onto a secure outdoor space with the shelter of a large gazebo.

A GREAT SPACE FOR TODDLERS TO EXPLORE

Our bright and spacious toddler room has lots of interesting spaces for our 2-3 year olds to investigate.  The 2-3 year old children are beginning to become more independent and enjoy the freedom this room provides. Toddlers have their own bathroom and access onto many outdoor play areas including the use of our nursery garden and St Gilbert’s School grounds.

LARGE, BRIGHT AND STIMULATING.

Our pre-school rooms are versatile and have been designed to be a large and bright play space that includes a tree house. Large fold-back doors allow it to become two separate rooms enabling children to be in smaller, ability-appropriate groups. Each pre-school room has direct access to stimulating outdoor play spaces and has its own bathroom. All our pre-school children have the option to enjoy Forest School in Ketton.

The Nursery is also fortunate to not only have its own private garden but to have the added bonus of being able to use the school’s outdoor play areas.
